Job Description – NVH CAE Engineer

Position Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and self-driven NVH CAE Engineer to join our CAE Body Performance Development team. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical problem‑solving capabilities, leadership qualities, and hands‑on experience in NVH model building & simulations using primarily in NASTRAN, ANSA/META (Optistrut, Hypermesh / Hyperview), and related tools. This role involves supporting clients on vehicle NVH load cases, analyzing results, preparing detailed engineering reports, and recommending design countermeasures to meet or exceed NVH targets.
Key Responsibilities
Technical & Simulation Responsibilities:
Handle full‑vehicle and subsystem NVH load cases using Nastran (SOL101, SOL103, SOL108, SOL111 & SOL200), Opti Strut,Perform model assembly and integration for:BIW, Trim BIW, Full vehicleBody–Powertrain coupling, Structure–fluid couplingBuild and evaluate FE models, ensuring:High‑quality meshingCorrect material propertiesAccurate connections (rigids, bushings, welds, etc.)Generate acoustic cavity models with correct measurement point positioning.Evaluate and integrate subsystem models from simple to highly complex assemblies.
NVH Analysis Execution:
Modal Analysis & Modal AlignmentFrequency Response Functions & Direct Response AnalysisDynamic Stiffness & Road NoiseVibration Transfer Function & Noise Transfer FunctionPowertrain Noise (WOT & IDLE)Road-Load Conditions & Interior Acoustic Response
Post‑Processing & Interpretation
Identify BIW/TBIW global modesInterpret FRFs, transfer functions, and dynamic responsesEvaluate Sound Pressure Levels (Pa, dB, dB(A))Conduct Transfer Path Analysis (TPA) to identify dominant noise contributors
Project Execution & Client Interaction
Independently lead NVH simulation projects and deliver high‑quality resultsPrepare detailed technical reports and present findings to clientsProvide structural design countermeasures to achieve NVH performance targetsCommunicate with clients on daily simulation activities, deliverables, and decision‑making supportMentor junior team members and contribute to competency developmentEnsure adherence to customer expectations regarding quality, timelines, and technical guidelinesRequired Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Aerospace Engineering, or related fieldMinimum 2-5 years of vehicle-level NVH analysis experience.Strong understanding of Structural Mechanics, Finite Element Methods, material modelling, connections/contacts, and linear/nonlinear behaviourHands‑on experience with:Pre-processing: ANSA (preferred) / HyperMeshPost-processing: META (preferred) / HyperViewAbility to interpret simulation results including stress-strain, deformation, energy, acceleration, and acoustic metrics.Analytical mindset with strong organizational and problem‑solving skillsAdvanced or fluent English communication skillsPreferred Skills (Good to Have)
Experience in Statistical Energy Analysis, (Mid & High Frequency Analysis)Experience in other tools like AVL, GT Suit will be preferredCAE–physical test correlation experienceProgramming/scripting skills: Python, TCL.Familiarity with HPC environments (clusters, cloud-based simulation platforms)Experience with other solvers: Abaqus, LS-Dyna, PAM‑Crash
