About this role
Reporting directly to the CFO, the Controller is responsible for the leadership and direction of the accounting department:
• Effectively communicates expectations, goals and objectives as well as providing feedback on performance to accounting and payroll staff. • Ensures the company’s accounting procedures and financial reporting conforms to generally accepted accounting principles. • Develops and manages internal/external control policies, guidelines, and procedures for accounting operations such as budget administration, payroll, cash and credit management. • Manages, directs and coordinates the financial reporting processes, including budgeting, tax reporting, and financial audits.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred • 5+ years experience in public accounting and/or accounting experience in health care/senior housing • Prior experience with Great Plains accounting software desired. Advanced Excel required. • Prior supervisory experience preferred • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills
