About this role

As a Veterinary Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

Assisting with patient restraint and handlingTriaging incoming patients and obtaining medical historiesCollecting and processing laboratory samplesPerforming or assisting with diagnostic imaging and radiographsProviding nursing care and monitoring hospitalized patients with varying levels of stabilityAdministering medications as directed by the veterinary teamPreparing patients for surgery and assisting during proceduresSupporting anesthetic monitoring and patient recoveryCommunicating treatment plans and recommendations clearly and compassionately with clientsMaintaining a clean, organized, and safe treatment environmentHelping provide a calm, positive experience for patients, clients, and teammatesWhether you're an experienced Veterinary Assistant looking to master your current skills or hoping to take the next step in your career, you'll have opportunities for hands-on learning, virtual training, and continued professional development.

We’re seeking a Veterinary Assistant with at least one year of veterinary experience who is comfortable working in a busy clinical environment.

The ideal candidate is:

Compassionate, dependable, and calm under pressureA strong communicator and collaborative team playerComfortable multitasking and prioritizing in a fast-paced settingConfident with safe and appropriate animal restraintA self-starter who takes initiative and enjoys learningExperienced with sample collection, laboratory testing, medical histories, and radiographsFamiliar with anesthesia monitoring and surgical assistance, which is a plusAs a Veterinary Assistant, you may encounter unpleasant odors and noises and may be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste, and potentially contagious diseases. A willingness to work safely and compassionately in these situations is essential.
