We are seeking an experienced Senior Engineer - Highways to join our organization in Doha, Qatar. The ideal candidate will bring extensive expertise in highway engineering, a proven track record of successful project delivery, and the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. You will play a critical role in ensuring projects meet technical specifications, regulatory requirements, and quality standards while maintaining efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Design and develop comprehensive highway infrastructure projects, including roadway alignment, drainage systems, and traffic management solutionsLead and mentor engineering teams throughout all project phases, from conceptual design through construction and commissioningConduct detailed technical analyses and feasibility studies to evaluate project viability and identify potential challengesEnsure all designs comply with local regulations, international standards, and safety protocols specific to Qatar and the Middle East regionManage project budgets, timelines, and resources to deliver projects on schedule and within financial parametersCoordinate with stakeholders, contractors, and government agencies to facilitate project approvals and smooth executionPerform quality assurance reviews and inspections to verify construction adherence to design specificationsUtilize advanced engineering software and tools, including AutoCAD and Building Information Modeling (BIM), for design and project documentationPrepare technical reports, specifications, and construction drawings for project documentation and regulatory submissionStay current with industry best practices, emerging technologies, and evolving standards in highway engineering Valid MME (professional engineering) registration and active license in good standingQatar experience requiredFluent in Arabic/EnglishMinimum 12 years of professional experience in highway engineering and infrastructure developmentProven experience leading senior-level highway projects from design through construction completionStrong expertise in highway design principles, pavement engineering, and traffic engineeringProficiency with industry-standard software including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and BIM platformsComprehensive knowledge of construction management, project scheduling, and cost estimationDemonstrated ability to analyze complex engineering problems and develop effective solutionsExcellent project management skills with proven ability to deliver projects on time and within budgetStrong leadership and team management capabilities with experience mentoring junior engineersExcellent written and verbal communication skills in EnglishFamiliarity with Middle East construction standards, local regulations, and regional infrastructure requirementsPreferred experience with traffic modeling software and sustainable highway design practicesPreferred knowledge of safety management systems and environmental compliance in construction projects At AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously.
