About this role

We are seeking a Deputy Project Director to join our dynamic project management team in Doha, Qatar. In this pivotal role, you will support the Project Director in overseeing complex airport development and operational projects from conception through completion. You will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards while maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders, contractors, and internal teams.

Assist the Project Director in planning, organizing, and executing airport projects of varying scope and complexityManage project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure optimal project performance and cost controlCoordinate with multiple stakeholders, including government agencies, contractors, consultants, and internal departments to facilitate seamless project executionMonitor project progress against established timelines and deliverables, identifying and addressing deviations proactivelyConduct comprehensive risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to minimize project disruptionsEnsure compliance with aviation regulations, safety standards, and organizational policies throughout all project phasesPrepare and present detailed project reports, status updates, and performance metrics to senior leadershipLead and mentor project team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environmentManage escalations and resolve conflicts between project stakeholders in a professional and decisive mannerAnalyze project data and performance indicators to drive continuous improvement and operational efficiency Minimum 18 years of project management experience, with at least 10 years in a senior project management or deputy director capacityProven experience managing airport development, cargo expansion, or operational project is a mustStrong knowledge of airport operations, aviation industry standards, and regulatory requirementsDemonstrated expertise in budget management, financial forecasting, and cost controlProficiency with project management methodologies such as PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent frameworksAdvanced proficiency with project management software and tools (Microsoft Project, Primavera, or similar platforms)Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills with the ability to influence diverse groupsStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a detail-oriented approach to project deliveryExceptional communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbalProven ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing teamsStrong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneouslyPreferred: Experience with airport infrastructure projects in the Middle East regionPreferred: Knowledge of aviation safety management systems and quality assurance protocols At AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously.
