Position Summary
This role focuses on indirect tax technology implementation, maintenance and optimization, with emphasis on tax engine and tax compliance software. The position supports tax technology for the International Region by identifying and implementing new technology and/or process improvements to drive compliance and savings along with ensuring tax team members are properly trained.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with Tax Engine and Tax Compliance maintenance and documentation of the indirect tax automation and reporting process tools (Vertex O, VITR, SAF-T, Real Time Reporting, e-invoicing)Assess, document, and improve processes and data flowsDrive data analytics tools (Power BI) to increase efficiency for tax activitiesDesign and implement Alteryx workflows to streamline tax processes and improve analytics capabilities.Maintain production tax systems, including troubleshooting tax issues and implementing system updates (Oracle R12 EBTax)Troubleshoot indirect tax issues, including but not limited to compliance issues and e-invoicing issuesIdentify potential process improvements and recommend implementation strategiesDeploy and support tax compliance solutions including e-invoicing and real-time reporting requirementsDevelop and demonstrate expertise in tax related software including building and offering trainingServe as a liaison between Tax, Finance, and IT to support various tax technology projectsPrioritize and assist with documenting, sharing, and testing overlapping tax system requirementsOther tax projects as assigned Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree (or relevant equivalent experience) in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Information Systems, or related fieldAt least 4 years of experience in tax technology with emphasis on indirect tax systemsIn-depth knowledge of VAT regulations and systems (VAT/GST)Proficiency with tax technology tools and applications - including / such as Vertex O-Series, Vertex Returns, Alteryx, SQL, and RPA - with experience in using these tools to streamline tax compliance, automate workflows, and enhance data accuracy and reportingStrong experience with data analytics and visualization tools (Tableau, PowerBI, Data Integrity)ERP experience (Oracle preferred)Ability to support multiple on-going projects in a fast-paced environmentExperience with SharePoint and/or Power AutomateExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex tax concepts to diverse audiences.Analytical mindset with a strong controls orientation and attention to detail.Candidates must be able to work somewhat flexible hours to support global team time zones

Knowledge of RPA, AI, or machine learning applications in taxProject management certifications (PMP, Six Sigma, LEAN)Professional tax or accounting certifications (ACA, CA, CTA)Alteryx CertificationSQL or other database experienceTax engine certifications (Vertex or Thomson Reuters)Experience with e-invoicing platforms and real-time reporting requirements
