About this role

We're looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Field Engineer - Mechanical to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of mechanical systems and equipment at client sites. You will work independently and collaboratively to ensure equipment operates efficiently, safely, and in compliance with industry standards. This position requires a proactive professional who can analyze complex mechanical problems and implement effective solutions in fast-paced field environments.

Install, commission, and test mechanical equipment and systems according to technical specifications and industry standardsDiagnose and troubleshoot mechanical failures using analytical methods and specialized toolsPerform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical systems to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifePrepare detailed technical reports, maintenance logs, and documentation for all field activitiesConduct equipment inspections and analyze performance data to identify optimization opportunitiesCollaborate with clients, project managers, and internal teams to coordinate field activities and resolve technical issuesEnsure compliance with safety protocols, environmental regulations, and company policies at all job sitesProvide technical guidance and support to junior technicians and field staff when requiredManage spare parts inventory and equipment tools efficientlyTravel to various job sites as needed to support project requirements Proven 10 years of experience as a Field Engineer, Mechanical Technician, or similar role in a technical field environmentStrong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, systems, and equipment operationProficiency in troubleshooting, diagnostics, and root cause analysisExperience with mechanical maintenance, repair, and installation proceduresFamiliarity with technical documentation, blueprints, and CAD softwareKnowledge of safety standards, compliance requirements, and best practices in mechanical operationsExcellent organizational and time management skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesEffective communication and interpersonal skills for client and team interactionAbility to work independently and manage multiple priorities in field-based settingsPreferred: Experience with CMMS software, predictive maintenance techniques, or specific mechanical systems (pumps, compressors, turbines, HVAC)Preferred: Experience in oil and gas, manufacturing, utilities, or related industriesPreferred: Leadership or mentoring experience with technical teams At AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously.
