We are looking for a Payroll Specialist at our Amsterdam HQ, 32–40 hours, who can start in January 2027.

What our Payroll Specialists do

Own payroll for assigned markets manage the end-to-end monthly payroll process, from collecting inputs such as store working hours and HR mutations to preparing vendor inputs and thoroughly checking payroll outputsAnalyse payroll variations and investigate differences to ensure payroll is accurate, complete, and processed on timeComplete payroll closing activities including reconciliations, journal creation, pension registrations, and related checks,Ensure statutory compliance by understanding and applying local payroll legislation, Collective Labour Agreements, and other relevant regulations across your assigned marketsAct as a key point of contact for store managers, employees, external payroll providers, and tax authorities regarding payroll-related questionsSupport payroll administration including pensions, correspondence from tax authorities, and other employee-related statutory requirementsDrive continuous improvements by identifying opportunities to streamline manual workflows, optimise systems, and improve the scalability of our payroll processesContribute to strategic projects that support the growth and development of the payroll functionSupport the Finance team during annual audits by providing relevant payroll documentation and explanationsCollaborate across HR, Finance, and Operations to improve processes, solve issues, and ensure a smooth payroll experience for our employeesYou have

3–5 years of hands-on payroll experience, preferably in an international or multi-country European environmentA relevant educational background in HR, Finance, Payroll, or a PDL (Praktijkdiploma Loonadministratie) qualification is a plusStrong technical curiosity you want to understand the payroll logic and statutory rules behind the numbers rather than simply following a checklistExcellent attention to detail and the ability to maintain high-quality standards while working under deadline pressureA solution-oriented mindset and the confidence to work independently on both routine and non-routine payroll questionsA proactive approach to problem solving you research available resources and come to the table with potential solutionsStrong stakeholder management skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with HR, Finance, store operations, external providers, and other stakeholdersAdaptability and resilience in a fast-changing environment, including evolving systems, processes, and responsibilitiesStrong Excel / Google Sheets skills and experience working with HRIS and payroll systemsThe ability to work from or commute to our Amsterdam HQWhat we offer

The salary range for this role is €50,000 – €60,000 gross per year based on full-time, including 8% holiday allowance.
