About this role
This full-time role suits an experienced Dental Assistant who takes pride in a well-run surgery and a calm patient experience. You'll work chairside alongside our dentists, supporting a wide variety of treatments and helping each appointment run smoothly. You'll also work closely with the hygiene team, the practice manager and the front desk team.
What your days look like:
Your appointments will cover the full range of general care, from check-ups and fillings to crowns, root canal treatment and extractions.
Your responsibilities will include:
Providing chairside assistance across general, restorative and preventive treatmentsPreparing treatment rooms, instruments and materials before each appointmentCleaning, sterilising and reprocessing instruments in line with ADA infection control guidelinesKeeping patients comfortable and informed, especially those who feel anxiousUpdating clinical notes and charting in the practice management softwareHelping with stock control and ordering for your surgery To succeed in the role, you will bring:
Previous experience as a Dental Assistant and/or a Certificate III in Dental Assisting (or higher)Sound knowledge of infection control and sterilisation protocolsConfidence using dental practice management softwareA calm, reassuring manner with nervous patientsStrong communication and organisational skillsReliability, and a willingness to share your experience with newer team membersThe right to work in Australia Why join 1300SMILES Chinchilla?
