Main duties of the job
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Care navigate patient appointment request by telephone, on-line or in person to the appropriate clinical person.Greeting patients and noting their attendance at the surgery for a booked appointment.Deal with visit requests.Registration of new patients and temporary residents.Process patients change of address details.Process repeat prescription requests in accordance with practice guidelines.Having full understanding of the appointment system.Have a clear understanding of telephone system, daytime and out of hours.Computer data entry - processing and recording information in accordance with practice procedures.Answering the telephone promptly.Taking messages for members of the primary health care team, ensuring that urgent messages are given highest priority and delivered promptly.Taking payments for services over the counter, ensuring that a receipt is issued on each occasion.Continuously updating knowledge of service through information provided at staff training, meetings, emails etc.Chaperone for clinical staff when required.Clinical recall for patients that require annual reviews for long term conditions.Complete workflow tasks within agreed timescale (more details in job description).
