About this role

About EnduranceEndurance is building the world's first modular subsea geothermal power plants, converting vast thermal resources under the ocean into gigawatts of baseload power. Backed by Founders Fund, Felicis, First Round Capital, and Point72 Ventures, our founding team includes veterans from SpaceX, Helion, Blue Origin, and Apple. We have completed multiple deep-ocean deployments to subsea volcanoes and are launching a long-term demonstration project this fall. By leveraging modular design, manufacturing scale, efficient drilling, and latent cooling on the seafloor, we are pioneering a new category of energy that outperforms traditional sources on environmental impact, deployment speed, and cost.

What you'll be doingAs a CNC Machinist/Programmer at Endurance Energy, you will work alongside mechanical and electrical engineers to program and machine precision parts that make up our subsea geothermal power generators.

You will be responsible for taking parts from released models/drawings to finished hardware, writing CNC programs in CAM systems like Mastercam and running them on the floor. You will machine components in Titanium, Inconel, and other nickel-based alloys to tight tolerances, and you will have full control over work holding, tool holding, cutting tool selection, and machining strategy for every part.

You are expected to operate with high ownership on the floor: proving out programs and pushing parts to finished quality without waiting for direction.

This is a critical position where your speed, precision, and judgment directly impact our ability to hit hardware milestones on aggressive timelines.

Key ResponsibilitiesCreate CNC programs in CAM systems such as Mastercam (or similar) for milling, turning, and mill-turn work

Machine precision parts in Titanium, Inconel, and other nickel-based alloys to aerospace-type tolerances

Select work holding, tool holding, cutting tools, and machining strategies

Set up and operate CNC machines, including 5-axis milling and/or mill-turn machines

Prove out new programs and refine feeds, speeds, and strategies to improve cycle time and tool life

Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and machining documentation

Perform in-process and final inspection of machined parts using precision measurement tools

Identify and resolve fit-up, tolerance, and machinability issues in real time

Drive clean, organized, and repeatable machining processes on the floor

Document setups, programs, and issues for engineering and QA traceability

Support rapid prototyping and iteration under tight timelines

Collaborate with design and integration engineers to improve part manufacturability

Maintain a safe working environment, machines, and tooling

Required Qualifications5+ years of hands-on experience in CNC programming and machining

Extensive experience creating CNC programs in CAM systems like Mastercam, or similar

Extensive experience machining Titanium, Inconel, and other nickel-based alloys

Strong experience in 5-axis milling and/or mill-turn programming and machining (expertise in one area is acceptable; strength in both is ideal)

Proven ability to select work holding, tool holding, cutting tools, and machining strategies independently

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T

Strong mechanical intuition and ability to troubleshoot machining issues quickly

High attention to detail and craftsmanship in machining work

Track record of working effectively in fast-paced, prototype-driven environments

High ownership mindset and ability to operate independently with minimal supervision

Strong communication skills and ability to work closely with engineers

Preferred QualificationsStrong experience in both 5-axis milling and mill-turn programming and machining

Experience developing feeds, speeds, and tooling libraries for difficult-to-machine alloys

Background in high-pressure, high-temperature, or thermal systems hardware

Experience in marine, subsea, aerospace, or energy hardware environments

CMM or advanced metrology experience

Light fabrication and manual machining experience (lathe, mill, drill press)

Experience supporting test operations and building custom fixtures or tooling

Ability to contribute to fixture design and work-holding tooling

Compensation, Benefits, & PerksAs a pre-revenue startup, Endurance Energy offers competitive base salaries and generous equity packages for full-time employees. Final base salary will be determined by an array of factors including internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and work experience.

A key aspect of our compensation philosophy is that value creation should be aligned with rewards. Right now this means equity is a significant portion of every full-time employee's compensation. As the company matures, there will be continued evolution and changes to the total rewards and total compensation package. What will always be true is that if we win, we win together. Equity is granted to every full-time employee as a meaningful piece of ownership. We believe the people building the company should share directly in the value they create.

In addition to a competitive base salary and equity, employees will receive all of our other great benefits and perks, including:

Benefits: Health, Dental, and Vision insurance coverage

Time Away: Flexible PTO including 12 paid company holidays

Global Fieldwork: Travel to fascinating deployment sites along oceanic ridges in locations like the Pacific Northwest, Hawaii, Iceland, Japan, New Zealand, and the Azores

Hands-on Experience: Participate in sea trials and deployment operations in partnership with leading oceanographic institutions

Cutting-edge Development: Work with technology that spans high-power electronics, marine systems, and clean energy

Impactful Work: Help solve one of the world's most pressing challenges

Dive Certification: Company-sponsored recreational dive certification

Other Perks: Access to the company boat, free meals and snacks, and the list goes on!

If you’re selected for consideration, a recruiter will be able to discuss in greater detail.
