Main duties of the job

Act as an independent prescriber to optimise patient care Provide expert clinical advice and medicines optimisation to the multidisciplinary team Lead and participate in audit, research, and quality improvement projects Provide training, supervision, and education to pharmacy staff and other healthcare professionals. Deliver and develop specialist clinical pharmacy services for Acute & Emergency Medicine Monitor, analyse, and manage medicines expenditure and support cost-improvement initiatives

Applicants must be registered with the GPhC, have comprehensive experience as a clinical pharmacist in a hospital setting, have comprehensive experience of supervising/ training/ assessing students or staff, and have a postgraduate diploma in clinical pharmacy or equivalent.

Substantial post-registration experience in an acute hospital setting Experience working in the Acute & Emergency medicine specialty Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team Ability to manage own time effectively and prioritise appropriately Patient focused with a strong commitment to providing high-quality care and a positive experience Experience delivering teaching to both small groups and larger audiences
Desirable
Experience in marking and formally assessing colleagues or undergraduate students and providing feedback in a constructive manner Evidence of leading quality improvement projects with successful outcome Evidence of publication in peer reviewed journals or at a national/ regional conference Evidence of participation in an outside group within pharmacy e.g. UKCPA
Qualification Essential
Registered Pharmacist with the GPhC Postgraduate clinical diploma or equivalent qualification/accreditation (e.g. RPS Newly Qualified Pharmacist Pathway) Independent prescribing qualification
