Job summary
Medical Electronics is a busy department responsible for maintaining medical equipment throughout Somerset NHS Foundation Trust. The department provides a comprehensive service, carrying out the routine calibration, maintenance, repair and management of the Trust's Medical Equipment.
We are looking to recruit a highly motivated support technician to join our team, this role supports all the clinical and various non clinical departments and wards across the county of Somerset within the team structure.
The working hours are 37.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday 08.30am - 05.00pm. The work requires being able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team.
You will be educated as a minimum Level 2 Healthcare Science (Medical Engineering) with knowledge and practical experience of servicing medical devices.
Main duties of the job
This is a technical role within the team which supports all the clinical and various non clinical departments and wards across the county of Somerset within the team structure/role allocation.
As a member of the Medical Electronics Team you will provide effective and economic management of Medical Equipment for the Trust, and community organisations for which it is responsible by fault finding, repair, overhaul, calibration, safety test and planned preventative maintenance.
You'll work collaboratively on a day to day basis with the Medical Electronics team while building relations with clinical and non clinical staff to ensure service needs are met.
