About this role

Job summary

An opportunity for an experienced ADHD Pharmacist to join a new primary-care led ADHD service in Crawley, West Sussex.

This role is for a dedicated Independent Prescriber with proven experience in mental health, primary or secondary care settings with an interest in ADHD. You will play a key role in supporting patients with ADHD and other complex mental health conditions, delivering safe, high-quality care through remote assessments, reviews, and prescribing.

This role offers the flexibility of remote working while allowing you to make a direct impact on patient wellbeing and service innovation in ADHD care. Training will be provided where required.

Main duties of the job

Conduct comprehensive ADHD medication reviews and mental health assessments via secure remote platformsPrescribe ADHD and psychotropic medications safely, adhering to NICE guidelines, local formularies, and Trust policiesMonitor and manage patients with complex and high-risk presentations, ensuring appropriate follow-up and escalationOptimise pharmacological treatment, considering drug efficacy, side effects, and patient adherenceProvide specialist advice to clinicians on ADHD and mental health medication management

Person Specification

Experience Essential

Proactive approach and strong communication skills to build trust and rapport with patients from diverse backgrounds and reduce health inequalities

Desirable

Experience of working effectively in collaboration with other organisations

Qualifications Essential

Registered Pharmacist (GPhC) Independent Prescriber qualification Demonstrated experience managing high-risk patients Background in primary (GP/medical) or secondary (hospital) care

Desirable

Experience using SystmOne CPD-accredited ADHD Diagnostic and Assessment qualification

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Essential

Patient focused Ability to work independently Ability to communicate effectively in challenging situations
