About Unit 2-4 Unit 2-4 is a fast-paced acute inpatient telemetry unit that provides care for patients with a wide range of medical, cardiac, and respiratory conditions. As a teaching unit, we work closely with Medical and Family Practice Residency Programs, offering a collaborative environment focused on clinical excellence, learning, and patient-centered care. Specialized patient populations and services include:
• Class II telemetry monitoring • Cardiac care • Acute respiratory conditions • CPAP and BiPAP therapy • High-flow oxygen therapy • Ventilator management • Palliative and end-of-life care Our nursing team receives comprehensive specialty training, including:
• Core EKG Interpretation • Respiratory Care • End-of-Life Care • Specialty education programs tailored to clinical practice areas We utilize a primary nursing model supported by an interdisciplinary team approach to ensure exceptional patient outcomes and experiences. Position Summary The Registered Nurse (RN) delivers high-quality, patient-centered care while coordinating services across the continuum of care. The RN assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and documents care to ensure optimal patient outcomes while collaborating with physicians, residents, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary team members. This role requires strong critical thinking, clinical judgment, communication, and patient advocacy skills. Key Responsibilities
• Assess, plan, implement, coordinate, and evaluate individualized patient care plans from admission through discharge. • Collaborate with physicians, residents, and interdisciplinary care teams to ensure seamless patient care delivery. • Utilize critical thinking and clinical expertise to identify patient needs and respond appropriately to changes in condition. • Monitor and document patient progress accurately within the electronic medical record. • Support care coordination and patient education initiatives. • Maintain compliance with New York State regulations, nursing standards of practice, and organizational policies. • Promote patient safety, quality outcomes, and regulatory compliance. • Participate in ongoing professional development and continuing education opportunities. • Recognize situations requiring immediate intervention and respond appropriately. Minimum Qualifications Required
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. • Current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License. • ✅ This position is NOT remote. On-site patient care is required. • Current certifications required by department and regulatory standards. • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based healthcare environment. • Commitment to delivering exceptional patient-centered care. Preferred
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). • Specialty certifications relevant to area of practice. • Previous acute care, telemetry, medical-surgical, cardiac, or respiratory nursing experience. Pay Range: $37.60- $58.35 Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
