Job summary
The Wellbeing & Recovery College is seeking an experienced, recovery focused AHP who is passionate about co-production and understands the value and benefit of an educational approach to support mental health and wellbeing.
The post holder will be a qualified Allied Health Professional (AHP) and be registered with the HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council), have substantial experience of working with people who experience emotional wellbeing and mental health challenges, hold a teaching or training qualification of level 3 or above (or be committed to complete the qualification once appointed). Having your own lived experience of mental health challenges is desirable.
The Lincolnshire Wellbeing and Recovery College provides free educational courses focused on mental health and wellbeing. The College provides a safe space for those wanting to learn about improving wellbeing and living well with mental health.
The College has a focus on empowerment, self-management and fostering a sense of hope, control and opportunity. The courses are created by people with their own lived experience of mental health challenges alongside healthcare professionals. Students gain an understanding of mental health, support recovery, gain skills and strategies to live well, and make connections with others. Courses are available both in person across Lincolnshire and online for anyone aged 16 and over.
Main duties of the job
Using the guiding principles of a Recovery College together with professional knowledge and expertise: take a lead role in co-production, delivery, review and evaluation of the curriculum, inclusive of both the courses and service delivery model
Provide empowering, visible and effective leadership within the College, supporting the Manager to supervise, mentor , develop, induct and support team members as required
Actively seek opportunities in local and national areas to promote and develop the Recovery College and the AHP role
Analyse and evaluate the impact of the College via student outcome measures, prepare termly and annual data reports/audits
Take part in recruitment and retention
Source health professionals / experts by lived experience to be involved with the co-production and delivery of the college curriculum, providing development and training opportunities to those supporting the College including volunteers
Adhere to HCPC code of professional conduct and ethics, plus associated legislation
Provide AHP student placement opportunities within the College to meet CPD standards
Attend promotional events inclusive of delivering presentations and workshops both within LPFT and externally to increase awareness and understanding of the Colleges offer
Develop opportunities to attract income generation

Qualifications Essential
AHP with current HCPC registration. Teaching qualification of level 3 or above (or be committed to complete the qualification within 6 months of appointment).
Desirable
APPLE accreditation, Or similar for the different AHP roles, APPLE is OT to allow to have students Minimum two years' experience in NHS service provision
Experience Essential
Evidence of continued professional development Substantial experience of working with people who experience emotional wellbeing and mental health challenges. A proven track record of developing and delivering educational programmes using group work. A sound understanding of adult learning principles and theories. Substantial experience of using evidence-based practice. Collating, analysing and presenting data.
Desirable
Own lived experience of mental health challenges Co-production and co-delivery of sessions / training to staff and/or service users/carers Experience of public speaking and presenting. Experience of chairing meetings
Skills Essential
To incorporate the values and principles of an AHP role into an educational approach towards student self-management, creating opportunity for learning, role modelling hope and agency. Ability to work in partnership with both internal and external agencies to co-produce the College curriculum. Sound knowledge of clinical/risk assessment and understanding of Information Governance principles. Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills Highly motivated & able to engage with students & carers to improve outcomes and student experience. Ability to be creative and adapt education to different learning styles and abilities. Evidence of working in a recovery focused and socially inclusive manner Competent user of Microsoft office packages including presentation skills via MS Teams. Excellent time management skills, organisational skills, ability to work under pressure and to manage own and other workloads efficiently.
Special Requirements Essential
The post holder will be required to travel independently within and external to Lincolnshire. Ability to travel across a geographical area and various locations within the trust. The Colleges offers course online in the evening. The post holder will be required to work some evenings Willingness to undertake training as required to deliver the duties of the post
