Job summary
Working as a receptionist/ Care Navigator at Old Parsonage Surgery you will be you will be working as part of team. Representing the surgery as the first point contact.
To be responsible for undertaking a wide range of general receptionist duties and the provision of administrative support.
Offer general assistance to the Practice team and project a positive and friendly image to Patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone.
Receive, assist, and direct Patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way.
Main duties of the job
Primary Responsibilities
The following are the core responsibilities. There may be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels
Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers request appropriately
Processing prescription requests
Process appointment requests from patients
Manage all patient inquiries in an effective manner
Input data into the patients healthcare records as necessary
Code data on EMIS Web clinical system
Support all staff with general administrative tasks as requested.
Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times
Have a working knowledge of the telephone system.
Act as chaperone when required
Covering duties during staff absence
Opening up/locking up the practice premises maintaining security
Maintaining and monitoring the practice appointments system
Initiating contact with and responding to requests from patients, other team members and associated healthcare agencies

The Receptionist/ care navigator role is patient facing.
Working as part of a team, you will be responsible for running the reception, accurately taking information form patients to navigate them to the most appropriate care.
This is a part time position working 16 hours per week. 3 shifts per week shifts are 0745-1300 and 1300-1830.

Qualifications Essential
Educated to GCSE level or equivalent.
Desirable
GCSE Mathematics and English 4 or above
Experience Essential
Experience of working with the general public Experience of administrative duties

Experience of working in a healthcare setting
