Job Description Essential Job Functions
• Lead current- and future-state value stream mapping, material-flow studies, and improvement workshops from receiving through production, storage, and shipping. • Develop and deploy standards for warehouse layout, storage locations, point-of-use delivery, replenishment, and material handling with plant Operations and Engineering. • Improve trailer utilization, shipment consolidation, routing, delivery frequency, and interplant transportation using cost, capacity, and service data. • Lead premium-freight reduction through root-cause analysis and preventive actions with Materials and Operations; support adherence to approval and tracking processes. • Partner with Packaging Engineering on pack quantities, container utilization, returnable loops, handling requirements, and packaging changes that improve total logistics cost. • Establish logistics KPIs and common analysis methods; build business cases and validate savings with Finance, separating recurring savings from one-time cash benefits. • Manage improvement projects from baseline and action plan through plant implementation, training, and verification of sustained results. • Support program launches and transfers with logistics readiness, storage capacity, packaging, and material-flow planning. • Coordinate with Purchasing on carrier sourcing and commercial decisions; audit operating standards, coach plant teams, and escalate unresolved service or capacity risks. • Own trade compliance for CSP’s supply chain, including import/export documentation, HTS classification, and country-of-origin/USMCA qualification; manage customs broker relationships and recordkeeping, with support from the Process & Inventory Analyst.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Operations, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience. • Seven or more years of progressive experience in manufacturing logistics, material flow, warehousing, or supply chain improvement. • Demonstrated leadership of cross-functional improvement projects with measurable cost, service, or productivity results. • Practical experience with value stream mapping, Lean methods, warehouse processes, transportation analysis, and root-cause problem solving. • Strong Excel and analytical skills, including baseline development, capacity analysis, project tracking, and business-case preparation.
Preferred Experience
• Automotive Tier 1 experience, including customer delivery requirements, returnable packaging, and launch or transfer support. • Experience with QAD or another manufacturing ERP, transportation systems, and layout or visualization tools. • Lean/Six Sigma or ASCM CLTD/CSCP training or certification. • Experience with import/export trade compliance or customs regulations preferred.

Working Relationships & Accountability Owns logistics process improvement and operating standards within approved authority. Partners with Engineering and EHS on layout and handling changes. Purchasing retains assigned sourcing and contracting authority; plants own daily shipping and receiving.
Performance Measures Premium-freight cost, trailer utilization, logistics cost per relevant unit, warehouse space utilization, project completion, and Finance-validated recurring savings.
Work Environment & Travel Based in the Auburn Hills, MI main office, with 50% travel to CSP facilities, including overnight stays, for assessments, workshops, training, and implementation. Work includes office analysis and on-site activity in manufacturing environments. Follow applicable site safety and PPE requirements.
