QualificationsResumes must be two pages (or less). Resumes should clearly demonstrate the applicant's relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities as they pertain to this position. A qualified candidate must possess the following: Experience OR a combination of experience and education that provided the knowledge of the goals, principles, methods, and techniques of recreation programs and an understanding of the interests of individuals or groups. Completion of the requirements for a bachelor's degree with major study in outdoor recreation and parks; recreation management; youth, public, urban or community recreation; or special population recreation is qualifying experience. In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified": Conversational proficiency in German, enabling effective communication with German speaking participants or partners while in support of a recreational activity. Certification as a ski or snowboard instructor, demonstrating advanced skill, safety awareness, and instructional capability in winter sports programs. Knowledge of outdoor recreation programs, including hunting and fishing activities, safety protocols, equipment use, and regulatory compliance. Applicant meeting the Best Qualifying Criteria/Highly Preferred will be referred to the hiring manager. All other qualified applicants will be referred if requested by the hiring manager. Major DutiesPlans, schedules, organizes and implements outdoor activities.Such activities include but are not limited to cross-country skiing, hiking, biking, canoeing, camping, trips, skeet shooting, parks, ranges, mountain climbing and overnight recreational trips.Demonstrates techniques and instructs participants in the use of equipment.Coordinates with installation, county, and state officials on programs and information related to outdoor recreation and required licenses.Researches, plans and develops or enlarges outdoor recreation areas.
