Job SummaryYou will serve as the Assistant Program Manager for Engineering (APME) for the PMA-281 Strike Planning and Execution Systems Program Office. You will be responsible for the acquisition and life cycle management of a range of mission planning, control systems and execution tools that are developed and integrated by PMA-281 in the Systems Engineering Department, Air Platform Systems Engineering Division, PEO(UW) Program Branch of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV.

QualificationsYour resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-13/14 or pay band NM-04 in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional SUPERVISORY GENERAL ENGINEER performing duties such as: 1) Serve as a Lead Systems Engineer or as a Lead Technical Domain Subject Matter Expert for assigned systems providing authoritative systems engineering or senior-level engineering technical domain input and advice to systems engineering and to the program management leadership; 2) Lead the development and incorporation of Systems Engineering work products or technical domain work products required to satisfy, complement and inform the DoW System Acquisition program management process milestones, artifacts, strategic planning, risk characterization and decision making on major weapon systems; 3) Lead or significantly master the incorporation and use of the various and broad NAWCAD resources to support engineering development, planning and testing for assigned systems; 4) Lead engineering, technical, acquisition, and sustainment support personnel and teams. Major DutiesYou will serve as a leader in the system simulation, requirement, and performance specification assessment of technical risk, and analysis of test and evaluation results.You will be responsible for the overall technical design, definition, and integration of a complex system with several major subcomponents such as propulsion, airframe, guidance, control, ordnance, fusing, avionics, software, computers, interfaces.You will develop and review program technical and mission documentation (e.g., Operational Requirements, Systems Concept Paper), providing authoritative input and advice on all engineering and technical issues and ensuring requirements are met.You will participate in the development and design of new systems by assessing if available or imminent technology is sufficient to meet requirements or system concepts are applicable to fleet operational requirements.You will provide administrative direction with guidance typically restricted to matters of broad policy, program objectives, and budget limitations.You will plan and carry out the assignments, resolving conflicts that arise, coordinating the work of others, and interpreting policy on own initiative in terms of the established objectives.
