We are seeking to recruit a Salaried GP, working up to 8 sessions to work alongside our friendly, experienced team. We would love you to visit and meet us.
We offer a competitive salary-BMA compatible starting at £11,410 per session but this may be higher depending on your experience and skills.

We are a training practice set in the heart of a fabulous town. We moved to our amazing purpose-built building in 2020.Our town centre location is within 5 minute's walk of Shrewsbury indoor market, which has, on four occassions, been voted Britain's favourite indoor market. Our town centre is thriving and goes some way to explain why Shrewsbury has been cited in The Times newspapers list of 10 best places to live 2025.
With proximity to wonderful countryside, a formidable food scene and good local state schools, we feel very lucky to live and work in our town.

Main duties of the job
We are an innovative team, keen to try out new ways of working. We are regularly adapting how we work to make our jobs as GPs more sustainable and enjoyable.
Exciting initiatives include AccuRx digital triage though our in-house duty hub and the outsourcing our daily medicines management work. We are also looking at ways to improve continuity for both patients and GPs.
We try to minimise administrative work through effective workflow and the triage of pathology results. (Typically 7-10 letters a day and 7-10 results)
About us
Riverside is a large training practice in the centre of Shrewsbury. We have an excellent reputation for teaching medical students from Keele and providing supportive training posts for foundation doctors and Shropshire VTS specialist trainees. We encourage our Salaried GP's to immerse themselves in the culture of the Practice and get actively involved in teaching and mentoring.
We are experienced in supporting GP's who are new to Practice, providing a supportive learning environment. We also are keen to help those who wish to develop their special interests. For example, two of our current salaried GP's run the homeless outreach clinic at The Ark a local homeless drop-in centre. Others have been mentored through IUT and SDI contraceptive training.
We are increasingly focused on staff well-being and provide a working environment conducive to the this and have a longstanding reputation for legendary Christmas parties.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with our extensive multi-disciplinary team at the practice and access a wide range of additional roles through our PCN, to include pharmacists, first contact physio, acute visiting paramedics, social prescribers, mental health practitioners and dietician. Riverside Medical Practice offers a supportive and convivial environment to work, supported by our excellent administrative and clinical teams.
Main duties of the role
As part of our multidisciplinary team, the Salaried GP will have the opportunity to care for a diverse patient group through undertaking the full range of primary care services. The Salaried GP will be responsible together with our multi-disciplinary team for delivering the full range of primary care services ensuring the highest standards of care for the differing needs of our practice population.
In accordance with the practice rota and salaried GP job plan, the post-holder will be available to undertake a variety of duties, to include telephone and face-to-face consultations, duty hub sessions and home visits and dealing with paperwork, clinical referrals, and correspondence in a timely manner.
Awareness and compliance with the relevant practice policies, to include confidentiality, data protection, health & safety, Quality Outcomes Framework, enhanced services and CQC registration. Commitment to and involvement, as appropriate, with care review and clinical standard setting.

Qualifications Essential
Qualified GP MRCGP Eligible to work in General Practice in the NHS Vocational Training Certificate or equivalent JCPTGP National Performers List Registration General Practitioner (Certificate of Completion of Training CCT) Full GMC Registration Full UK driving license
Experience Essential
Qualified GP MRCGP Vocational Training Certificate or equivalent JCPTGP General Practitioner (Certificate of Completion of Training CCT) General understanding of the GMS contract.
Desirable
Experience of mentoring and supervising doctors in training and other clinicians.
