Here's what you can expect as a junior flood safetyconsultant and researcherIn the Netherlands, we cannot live without levees and flood defences. As a junioremployee, you will help advise clients on the construction and management of theseessential components of our water infrastructure. You will investigate how we can makethem safe and keep them that way. You will identify and analyse developments that affect the soil conditions and flooddefences. You will assess the effects of climate change, investigate land subsidence,monitor flood situations and contribute to solutions for flood defence issues. In addition,you will be involved in the design, assessment and review of levees. The new knowledge is validated in our experimental facilities, amongst other places, andincorporated into guidelines and D-series software instruments. These are used by youand the sector. Sharing this knowledge fosters strong links with our partners and clients,both nationally and internationally.
