Job summary
Are you a motivated and experienced Occupational Therapist with a commitment to supporting adults with learning disabilities and complex needs? We are seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate clinician to join our Community Learning Disability Team based in the Waveney area of Suffolk.
Our team works within a supportive, multi-professional environment and is located close to the Norfolk Broads National Park, with good access to the historic and vibrant city of Norwich.
As a Community Occupational Therapist, you will work with adults with learning disabilities and/or autism who present with complex health and social care needs. Using a holistic, person-centred approach, you will apply your specialist Occupational Therapy skills to support individuals to live meaningful and fulfilling lives within their communities.
You will work collaboratively with service users, carers, colleagues, and partner agencies as part of a multi-agency approach, contributing to assessment, intervention, and ongoing care planning.
Main duties of the job
You will be:
A qualified Occupational Therapist with appropriate professional registration Experienced of, or very interested in, working with adults with learning disabilities and/or autism Competent in applying the Model of Human Occupation (MOHO) to your practice Have experience of using Occupational Therapy assessments and interventions relevant to this client group Able to demonstrate excellent communication skills and build positive, effective working relationships Training and experience in Sensory Integration/modulation would be highly desirable

In this role, you will be supported to maintain your professional identity and use your specialist Occupational Therapy skills. Alongside this, there is an expectation that you work as part of the integrated multi professional team. This will require engaging in some team-wide responsibilities such as case holding, where the primary needs of the service user are Occupational Therapy focussed.
