Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic pharmacist to join our friendly and supportive Medicines Information (MI) team within the Pharmacy Department at Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust.
You will be responsible for coordinating and supervising the day-to-day provision of a high quality Medicines Information service to healthcare professionals within the Trust, while supporting the long-term planning, organisation and delivery of the service.
You will also support the Clinical Pharmacy team by delivering direct patient care at ward level and acting as a clinical role model for other staff.
You will be based at the Broomfield Hospital site.
Main duties of the job
Analyse and interpret highly complex information from a variety of sources to provide expert evaluated medicines information and advice in response to enquiries from pharmacy, medical and nursing staff, allied healthcare professionals and members of the public (via the medicines helpline). Co-ordinate the planning and organisation of the day-to-day activity of the Medicines Information Service. Support in the provision of a clinical pharmacy service ensuring high quality, safe, effective, legal and accurate use of medicines.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience of working in an acute NHS hospital ward environment and demonstrate excellent communication and negotiating skills, working closely with patients and multidisciplinary teams throughout the hospital.

Qualifications Essential
Registered Pharmacist with GPhC MPharm (4 years) with 1 year pre-registration training Certificate in Clinical Pharmacy (or equivalent qualification / experience)

Knowledge & Experience Essential
Previous hospital experience inclusive of clinical pharmacy practice Demonstrated experience of multi-disciplinary working Demonstrable understanding of the principles of medicines optimisation
