Job description Job responsibilities

Manage the clinical coding requirements for all documentation electronic and hard copy for all registered patients on behalf of Kingswood Medical Group.

Ensure that all work necessary associated with coding and patient workflows are in accordance with NHS and Kingswood Medical Group protocols, processes and procedures ensuring legislation is adhered too.

Main Duties

Accurately code clinical data on the clinical system into the patient record.

Identify relevant clinical information documented in patient correspondence, code appropriately and complete any detailed action.

Input and extract data as required to support practice reports. File and store records as required.

Action all incoming correspondence, emails and mail in a timely manner in line with policies and procedures and manager expectations.

Scan patient related documentation and attach scanned documents to patients healthcare records.

Input data into patients healthcare records as necessary and in line with guidelines.

Answering incoming telephone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers request appropriately.

Carry out system searches as requested.

Support all clinical staff with general administrative tasks as requested by line manager.

You may also be asked to partake in audit as directed by the audit lead. Support reception staff, providing cover during staff absences.

Provide cover for admin team colleagues as directed by line manager in times of sickness or absence. Such other duties of a similar nature as may be required from time to time.

Person Specification

Experience Essential

Good standard of General Education Demonstrable commitment to professional development

Desirable

Working in a GP Practice. Working with SystmOne, AccuRx /Accubook. Using Microsoft applications. Understanding of medical/clinical coding principles Trained in clinical coding
