Community Staff Nurses are a valued part of our skill mix team, who work with the Named Health Visitor and Early Years Family Practitioners to empower Children, Young People and Families to make healthy lifestyle choices. Theyare able tooffer Healthy Child Programme contacts,identifyingwhen extra help may berequiredand offer theappropriate supportor signposting as needed under the direction of named Health Visitor.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills andbeable to build effective working relationships with a wide range of people. They will have exceptional time management and organisational skills anddemonstratea resilient,braveand connected mind set. The ability to travel throughout the Borough is essential and therefore a car driver would be preferable. Main duties of the job
About you:
Youllbring excellent communication skills and be able to build effective working relationships with a wide range of people in addition to your exceptional organisational skills and a resilient,braveand connected mind set to successfully contribute to delivering the Health Visiting service offer. You will need to be pro-active and creative in engaging with children, youngpeopleand families. You will need to be a qualified nurse, hold a current NMC registration withup to daterevalidation. You will be expected toevidencecontinuous professional development and have a desire to progress and learn. You will understand the need for change and be able to flexibly accommodate it positively. You will be offered a tailored induction programme and full training with support through ourwell designedpreceptorship programme. You must be able to travel throughout Swindon. Having access to a car would be preferable as you will work in a variety of settings to include the family home.

Job description Job responsibilities
To practice as a Registered Nurse or Midwife with the supervision of a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (SCPHN). Demonstrates behaviours as an NMC registrant, that uphold the code, principles and guidance laid out by the nursing regulatory body. Build and use effective relationships with support with a wide range of people, networks, communities and professionals to improve outcomes for the age 0-19 population. Use appropriate frameworks with support to make and contribute towards assessments to ensure that appropriate support is offered to those in need and ensure that considerations are made to the cost-effectiveness of these plans. Participate in meetings of internal/external partners. Act on received instructions and requests from Specialist practitioners. Participate in planning and reviewing cases and projects to support decisions or arrangements. With support of senior staff, undertake a delegated caseload with a requirement to work autonomously where appropriate to deliver required outputs, prioritising their workload as necessary. To support the recruitment and induction of new staff. Act as a nominated buddy to a new a staff member. Provide feedback on operational issues with teams and events to support the improvement of work and service plans. Demonstrates personal accountability for best practice and own development. With support of SCPHNs and experienced staff nurses, works with confidence across all areas of universal services as appropriate. Any other duties and/or accountabilities commensurate with the roles seniority to meet the needs of residents, through the application of relevant knowledge, skills and experience within the specialism of the role.
Person Specification
Experience Essential
Evidence of continuing post-registration education and training. Working knowledge of regulatory processes and policy frameworks e.g. NMC Code, Standards of Proficiency, Every Child Matters, Healthy Child Programme. Experience of co-ordinating and supporting nursing care delivery in the relevant service area.
