We have an exciting opportunity for a Practice Nurse- Complex Care to join our Primary Care team at HMP Oakwood, a category C Prison located in Wolverhampton.
HMP Oakwood is one of the largest prison in the UK, housing over 1,500 men. The site offers: Free Parking Gym Access Hours: 37.5 Monday-Friday 8am-4pm
4 week shift plan.
Salary:
Between £43,309-49,175 per annum. How will we support you?

The is a specific role to oversee the complex care needs of the men at HMP Oakwood. The candidate must be experienced in managing acute and complex conditions, using strong clinical assessment and decision making skills. Must be highly motivated in developing and implementing care plans with a strong emphasis on safety, dignity and holistic wellbeing Candidates are required to have a Legal right to work in the UK, due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.
Main duties of the job
As a Practice Nurse, your responsibilities will vary. You will
As a Practice Nurse you need expert clinical skills and demonstrate judgement in assessing and managing wide ranging and complex patient problems. This multi-disciplinary team is made up of a variety of registered and non-registered professionals including; nurses, doctors and mental health/substance misuse practitioners. You will deliver face to face care and provide safe and effective health assessments and treatment of patients within the establishment. You will be accountable for your own practice, the assessment including complex wounds, long term conditions and QoF management. diagnosis, treatment and discharge or referral of patients. To practice as a Practice Nurse within own scope of clinical competence and agreed acceptable limits of practice. Qualifications required
Registered Nurse: Adult Nursing with current NMC registration Experience working autonomously as a clinical practitioner following best practice guidance and identifying risk to patients through sound use of clinical expertise Knowledge of clinical audit and its relationship to research Knowledge of the statutory requirements for the safeguarding of adults and children Willing to be innovative and embrace learning through continued professional development and the practical application of new skills in the workplace Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate openly, consistently and clearly Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison
