The Lead Machine Operator will be responsible for the set-up, operation, adjustment and monitoring of automated food-production and packaging machinery to ensure safe, efficient and consistent production. The role includes carrying out machine checks and changeovers, monitoring machine performance and product output, identifying and responding to faults, completing basic machine maintenance and cleaning, carrying out quality checks and recording production information. The employee will support production teams in meeting daily production requirements while ensuring machinery is operated in accordance with food-safety, hygiene and health and safety standards. The role requires previous practical experience operating automated production or packaging machinery, preferably within food manufacturing or processing. The employee must have experience in machine set-up, operation and routine maintenance, together with the ability to monitor machine performance, identify operational issues and respond appropriately to faults. Knowledge of food hygiene, health and safety and quality-control requirements is required, together with strong attention to detail, reliability and the ability to work effectively within a fast-paced production environment. Experience with automated packing or filling machinery and working in chilled food-production environments is particularly relevant.
