Tichome Ltd, trading as Lavin's Fruit and Veg, is currently seeking an experienced HGV Drivers to join our team in Castlebar, Co. Mayo. This is a full-time, permanent position working across our company fleet, which includes vans, rigid trucks and articulated vehicles. About the Role This is a specialist fruit and vegetable delivery role. The successful candidate must have previous experience working with and delivering fresh fruit and vegetables and completing multi-stop/multi-drop deliveries. Experience must include managing the delivery process from picking orders from picking slips and correctly loading the vehicle, through to completing multiple customer deliveries and unloading on return to the depot where required. Previous fruit and vegetable delivery experience is essential. This experience may have been gained in Ireland or in another country. Key Responsibilities Pick and prepare customer orders from picking slips, ensuring the correct products and quantities are selected. Load vehicles correctly and safely, with particular attention to the handling and condition of fresh fruit and vegetable produce. Complete multi-stop/multi-drop deliveries to customers throughout the country. Ensure the correct products are delivered to the correct customers. Maintain the quality and condition of fresh produce throughout loading, transport and delivery. Deal professionally with customers and any delivery queries. Unload remaining products, returns or other goods on return to the depot where required. Assist with loading and dispatch duties as required. Carry out daily vehicle checks, including tyres, brakes, lights, oil, water and fuel levels. Maintain accurate records of delivery times, mileage and hours worked. Drive company vehicles safely and professionally and comply with all relevant road traffic and company requirements. Essential Requirements Previous experience working with and delivering fresh fruit and vegetables – ESSENTIAL. Previous experience in multi-stop/multi-drop delivery of fruit and vegetable produce – ESSENTIAL. Experience completing the full delivery process, from picking orders from picking slips and loading the vehicle through to multi-stop delivery and unloading/returns. Experience may have been gained in Ireland or another country. Valid Category B, C and CE driving licences. Experience driving vans, rigid trucks and articulated vehicles. Up-to-date CPC (Driver Certificate of Professional Competence) and tachograph card. Fluent English – essential with the ability to communicate clearly with customers and colleagues and understand delivery documentation and instructions. Ability to work efficiently to delivery schedules while maintaining a high standard of customer service.
