East of England Community Health and Care NHS Trust is looking for anexperienced 0-19 Professional Lead (Practice Learning Co-ordinator) to support and inspire our workforce across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. This countywide role plays a vital part in shaping positive learning experiences for SCPHN students, newly qualified practitioners and established staff, with a particular focus on the 5-19 School Nursing pathway.
You'll work closely with students, practice assessors, HEIs and clinical teams, offering guidance, encouragement and expert leadership to ensure learning environments are welcoming, high quality and evidence-based. You'll also support induction, preceptorship and ongoing professional development, helping staff feel confident, supported and valued.

You must be a Registered Nurse and SCPHN (School Nurse) with strong community public health experience and a genuine passion for developing others.

Main duties of the job

To plan and co-ordinate the learning experience of student SCPHNs and new starters across the county, particularly the 5-19 School Nursing pathway.
To provide support & leadership to SCPHN School Nurses within the Healthy Child Programme (HCP) & lead on the specific learning needs required for the 5-19 pathway.
To work and liaise closely with the training & development teams to ensure placements are of high quality & the learning environment is evidence based.
To work closely with the locality-based Professional Leads & wider Clinical Team, to co-ordinate, deliver & lead a culture of continuous professional development & support the education and training for all staff working within the HCP.
To ensure high quality educational standards, learning environments & training experience for all pre and post registration & SCPHN students working within the 0-19 HCP SN & HV teams.
To be part of a 0-19 team, working within a locality jointly with partner agencies & stakeholders around the child/young person to provide care to children & young people and their families in Cambs & Peterborough.
To provide clear leadership to support the locality teams within the 0-19 Healthy Child Programme (HCP). To work closely with the Children's quality improvement in providing clinical expertise to improve services and outcomes for children and families in Cambs & Peterborough.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
Clinical
Responsible for the practice placement learning environment for a cohort of pre and post registration nurses working within the 0-19 teams.
To offer guidance and sharing of expert knowledge to improve outcomes for children and young people within Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.
To support the Practice Assessors in their role, supporting student training and education and in completion of the written practice assessment.
To work with staff, other professionals and relevant partners to ensure effective delivery and safe, high quality plans of care for the children, young people and their families.
To engage with all Institutes of Higher Education across East of England Community Health and Care NHS Trust to ensure robust standards of Education and training within the Practice Placements
To be professionally and legally responsible and accountable for own work including management, of time and resources in line with the NMC code of conduct, Trust Values and Trust Policies
To plan, deliver and evaluate packages of training and learning opportunities for all staff working within the 0-19 teams, in collaboration with partner agencies, inclusive of any local and national policies and procedures
To provide up-to-date research evidence-based knowledge to support both pre- and post-registration students in their placements.
To establish, maintain and develop effective working relationships with all internal and external stakeholders.
To foster a culture of Research and Development within the Locality and wider East of England Community Health and Care NHS Trust.
To maintain own safeguarding competencies and support staff to safeguard children in line with local policy and procedure.
To maintain own clinical standards and to support a clinical caseload as required.
To plan and enable induction of all new staff members in 0-19 service across the service
To plan and enable bespoke preceptorship arrangements for all newly qualified staff members in 0-19 service within the across the service
To lead on identified service improvement projects in line with the service improvement methodology delegated by the clinical lead.
Professional
To apply analytical skills through application of specialist knowledge in order to support the assessment process and to share findings with students and staff colleagues working within the 0-19 integrated team
Evaluate the care given in order to assess the quality of the provision through the Implementation of audit to inform service performance.
Participate in any relevant new initiatives, projects or research programmes that are locally or nationally driven
Work closely with the Clinical Leads and Service Managers to participate in planning, implementing and evaluating training to all staff within the 0-19 integrated teams
To be a credible leader and role model, demonstrating good practice and maintaining local, national and professional standards.
To develop and implement evidenced based guidelines and standard operating procedures for 0-19 practitioners as required to role.
As agreed with 0-19 Service Leads, engage in clinical audit to inform service performance as well as support service improvement.
Attend feedback meetings, business meetings and multi-agency meetings ensuring confidentiality but establishing that a seamless, holistic service is offered to all Children & Young People of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.
Act as a source of expertise and knowledge for children, young people and their families and for health professionals and have a key role in the continuing development of the integrated team around the child
Participate in developing joint action plans, protocols, pathways, guidelines, procedures and audit to ensure continuous quality improvement of the service
Develop effective working relationships with appropriate multiagency professionals, and maintain working relationships with childrens agencies both from the Statutory and voluntary sectors and those from Institutes of Higher Education
Work together with the Team Leads and Safeguarding Leads to provide supervision for staff in accordance with Trust policies.
Communication
Demonstrate the ability to reconcile conflicting interests which may arise.
Influence decisions regarding service delivery through leading meetings and facilitating discussion.
Use well developed change management, communication and resilience skills to affect change within the team, understanding the complexities of change whilst also being able to deliver change.
Use sophisticated communication skills to impart difficult or unwelcome news primarily to staff, for example, disciplinary, performance and grievance matters
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with clinical colleagues within the service, division and Trust
Develop and maintain positive working relationships with key stakeholders and partners to support integration of services across Cambridge and Peterborough
Ensure clients and their carers/families are aware of the standards they would expect from the service
Communicate effectively with commissioners as required and agreed with Service Leads.
Analyse and provide reports and decipher information from data and communicate this Information to the Service Leads.
