Job summary ABOUT THE ROLE As a Head of Maintenance at a Barchester care home, you'll make sure we have a clean and well-maintained environment so that residents feel at home and staff can do their jobs well. Creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere is part of our commitment to delivering first-class care and support. You can expect plenty of variety as a Head of Maintenance with us. You'll turn your hand to all sorts of tasks within the care home building as well as in the gardens and grounds. That could mean fixing a leaky tap one minute and planting some new bulbs the next. You should be comfortable working alone, leading a team and supporting the General Manager with annual budget planning. We'll also need you to liaise with contractors on jobs that fall outside the expertise of your team. Main duties of the job As a Head of Maintenance at a Barchester care home, you'll ensure a clean and well-maintained environment, supporting residents and enabling staff to perform effectively. You will engage in a variety of tasks within the care home and its grounds, ranging from minor repairs to garden maintenance. The role requires working independently, leading a team, and supporting the General Manager with budget planning, as well as liaising with contractors. Prioritizing resident wellbeing, you should have hands-on property maintenance experience, at least one trade skill, and the ability to manage diverse maintenance tasks. Flexibility in working hours, a full UK driving licence, IT literacy, and GCSEs in Maths and English are essential. Qualifications Essential
Hands-on experience of property maintenance, at least one trade skill, full UK driving licence, IT literacy, GCSEs in Maths and English (or equivalent).
