Job summary

Beech Ward at Scarborough Hospital is looking for a compassionate, motivated Band 4 Nursing Associate to join our dynamic multidisciplinary team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in delivering high-quality, person-centred care to cardio-respiratory patients.

As a Nursing Associate, you'll work closely with Registered Nurses and the wider clinical team to ensure safe, effective, and dignified care. You'll be part of a supportive environment where your professional development is valued and encouraged.

Main duties of the job

Providing high-quality, evidence-based care to patients requiring enhanced levels of support. Carrying out a range of clinical duties within your scope of practice, including observations, basic assessments, and supporting care plans. Contributing to a safe and therapeutic environment for patients with complex physical or cognitive needs. Working collaboratively with Registered Nurses, HCSWs, AHPs, and medical staff. Supporting patients and families with clear communication, empathy, and professionalism. Maintaining accurate documentation and contributing to multidisciplinary discussions. Upholding Trust values and promoting a culture of safety, respect, and continuous improvement.

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

Foundation Degree achieved through recognised Nursing Associate training programme.

Desirable

Advanced IT skills e.g. spreadsheets, PowerPoint or ECDL qualification (willing to undertake further training.

Experience and Knowledge Essential

Understand the scope of the role of the Nursing Associate in context of the team worked in and the organisation, and how the role may contribute to service development` Knowledge of when to seek advice and refer to a senior registered care professional Understanding of how to apply evidence-based practice to ensure high quality care
