About the Role:
Offer one-to-one pastoral and emotional support to individuals and families. Create safe, reflective space for people to explore meaning, purpose, values and belief whatever their views.Work closely with families, the Family Support Team and the wider multidisciplinary team (MDT) to ensure holistic care is embedded across the hospice and community settings.Provide calm, compassionate presence during emotionally challenging moments.Lead and support remembrance, reflection and memory making activities.Support and offer pastoral care to staff and volunteers.Build strong relationships with community partners, including external spiritual or faith leaders when required.

Salary: (Band 5 equivalent) - £32,000 to £35,000 per annum (Full-time equivalent), subject to qualifications and experience.

Naomi and Jack's are hospices supporting life-limited and life-threatened children, young adults and their families from across the central South of England.
Naomi and Jack's nursing and medical staff provide individualised care that helps to enhance short lives and supports families to make the most of their precious time with their children.
Jack's is the only hospice for young adults in the South of England. The medical and care teams offer specialist care, often over many years, and uphold the dignity and independence of young adults accessing the service.

Naomi and Jack's is seeking a compassionate Chaplain/Pastoral Support Practitioner (Faith-Neutral).
This is a unique opportunity to join our Family Support Team to provide inclusive, faith-neutral pastoral, emotional and spiritual support to children, young adults, families, staff and volunteers. Supporting people through illness, distress, end-of-life and bereavement - whatever their faith, belief or personal values.
Person Specification

Essential Psychological or Pastoral Qualification or Experience providing pastoral, emotional, or wellbeing support in a healthcare, hospice, community, voluntary, or support setting Strong listening, communication, and interpersonal skills Ability to support people from diverse cultures, identities, beliefs, and life experiences Clear commitment to faith neutral, inclusive practice Sound understanding of confidentiality, professional boundaries, and safeguarding Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team Good organisational and IT skills, including Microsoft applications Ability to plan and contribute to bereavement and remembrance activities for people of all faiths or none Hold a valid UK driving licence
Desirable
Desirable Training or qualification in counselling skills, pastoral care, psychology, social work, or a related discipline Experience working in palliative care, hospice, health, or third sector environments Experience supporting individuals in crisis or complex grief Experience facilitating groups or contributing to service development Working understanding of the H.O.P.E. model of spiritual care Qualification as a celebrant or similar
