Middleway Surgery is expanding and were on the lookout for a motivated GP to join our friendly, forward-thinking team for 68 sessions per week (with potential for future partnership ).

Main duties of the job

The following are the core responsibilities of the Salaried GP. There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staff levels:a. The delivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled populationb. The provision of services GMS contractc. Generic prescribing adhering to guidanced. Effective management of long-term conditions

e. Processing of admin in a timely manner, including referrals,prescription requests and associated admin tasksf. On a rota basis, undertake tel triage and duty doctor rolesg. Maintain accurate clinical records

h. Work collaboratively, accepting an equal share of the practice workloadi. Adhere to best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit processj. . Accept delegated responsibility for a specific area (or areas) or the QOFl. Attend & contribute effectively to practice meetings asrequiredm. Contribute effective to the development and maintenance of the practice including clinical governance and trainingn. Ensure compliance with the appraisal processo. complete the revalidation processp. Commit to self-learning. Support the training of medical studentsr. Support the partners in achieving the strategic aims of the practice, making recommendations to enhance income and reduce expenditures. adhere to practice protocols and policiest. b. The provision of services commensurate with the GMS contract

c. Generic prescribing adhering to local and national guidance

d. Effective management of long-term conditions

e. Processing of administration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescription requests and other associated administrative tasks

f. On a rotational basis, undertake telephone triage and duty doctor roles

g. Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy and guidance

h. Work collaboratively, accepting an equal share of the practice workload

i. Adhere to best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit process

j. Contribute to the successful implementation of continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the practice

k. Accept delegated responsibility for a specific area (or areas) or the QOF

l. Attend and contribute effectively to practice meetings as required

m. Contribute effective to the development and maintenance of the practice including clinical governance and training

n. Ensure compliance with the appraisal process

o. Prepare and complete the revalidation process

p. Commit to self-learning and instil an ethos of continuing professional development across the practice team

q. Support the training of medical students from all clinical disciplines

r. Support the partners in achieving the strategic aims of the practice, making recommendations to enhance income and reduce expenditure

s. Review and always adhere to practice protocols and policies

t. Encourage collaborative working, liaising with all staff regularly, always promoting a culture of continuous improvement

In addition to the primary responsibilities, the salaried GP may be requested to:

a. Participate in practice audits as requested by the audit lead

b. Participate in local initiatives to enhance service delivery and patient care

c. Participate in the review of significant and near-miss events applying a structured approach i.e., root cause analysis (RCA)

Person Specification

Experience Essential

Experience of working in a primary care environment Experience of continued professional development Experience of QOF and clinical audit Minimum of two years as a salaried GP General understanding of the GMS contract

Experience of medicines management Experience of ICB initiatives

Qualifications Essential
