You will be mainly in charge of: · Developing and optimising carbon fibre recovery and recycling processes, with a focus on preserving fibre quality and length. · Investigating and optimising fibre surface treatments and sizing strategies to improve fibre–matrix compatibility and interfacial performance. · Developing fibre alignment strategies and semi-finished products based on recovered carbon fibres. · Manufacturing and optimising recycled carbon fibre composite materials and components using suitable processing routes. · Performing mechanical and microstructural characterisation and evaluating structure–process–property relationships. · Contributing to the manufacturing and validation of composite demonstrators. · Analysing and communicating research results through technical reports, scientific publications and presentations. Education · PhD in Materials Science, Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Polymer/Composite Engineering or a closely related field. · A strong research background in composite materials, preferably involving surface engineering, carbon-fibre-reinforced polymers and/or recycling. Experience and skills · Strong background in fibre-reinforced polymer composites and composite manufacturing. · Experience in carbon fibre recycling, surface treatment and/or sizing. · Experience in composite processing and mechanical/material characterisation. · Knowledge of fibre alignment and semi-finished product manufacturing would be an asset. · Ability to independently plan, conduct and analyse experimental research. · Strong communication, scientific writing and teamwork skills. Language skills • Fluency in English, oral and written. Other relevant languages are an asset. This position offers a gross monthly salary between €6094 and €6678, paid over 13 months (€79.222–€86.814 annually) based on full time employment. The final salary offer within this range will be determined based on the candidate's overall profile, qualifications and professional experience . For part time employment, the salary is adjusted pro rata.
