Saalex is seeking a Senior System and Server Administrator in Ridgecrest, CA. Position Type: Full-Time
Salary: $105k-$120k annually (depending on experience)
Work Location: Onsite. Ridgecrest, CA.
Overview The Senior System and Server Administrator leads the design, sustainment, security, and optimization of Linux and Windows environments. This role requires deep technical expertise, the ability to solve complex issues, and responsibility for improving automation, security posture, and system reliability.
Key Responsibilities
Lead administration and optimization of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environmentsArchitect, manage, and harden containerized platforms (Podman/Docker)Oversee cybersecurity, compliance, and vulnerability mitigation efforts across systemsPlan and execute system sustainment, patching strategies, and lifecycle managementServe as a technical authority for Microsoft Server (2016 or later) and Windows 10/11 environmentsOversee and improve client administration, imaging, and provisioning processesDevelop and maintain advanced automation and scripting solutions Bash for Linux environmentsPowerShell for Windows environmentsManage and optimize Network Attached Storage (NAS) solutionsTroubleshoot and resolve complex network and data‑flow issues, including high‑volume data transmissionsMentor junior administrators and contribute to technical standards and best practicesOther duties as assigned or requiredRequirements
7+ years of system and server administration experienceAdvanced expertise in RHEL and Microsoft server environmentsStrong background in cybersecurity, compliance, and vulnerability managementProven experience designing automation and scripting solutionsDeep understanding of enterprise storage and networking servicesAbility to lead technical efforts and support mission‑critical systems
Education:
HS and years of experience may be considered in l lieu of a degree.
Security Clearance:
