We are seeking an experienced and versatile Senior Cloud and Infrastructure Engineer to join our Platform and Infrastructure Operations Team. This pivotal role provides direct technical advisory support to our Procurement Integrated Enterprise Environment (PIEE) Program Management Office (PMO) and the Enterprise Sourcing Medical Contingency (ESMC) Portfolio. The ideal candidate will drive technology evaluation, implement advanced systems, and lead strategic technology initiatives. This role requires a strong, hands-on background in multi-cloud environments (especially AWS GovCloud), a passion for automation, and proven experience managing complex enterprise projects from concept to completion.

Strategic Advisory & Technical Leadership:
Provide critical technical recommendations to resolve complex issues and guide strategic technology decisions for the PMO and ESMCConduct comprehensive analyses of alternatives (AoA) for data analytics, visualization, and AI/ML platforms, advocating for Commercial-off-the-Shelf (COTS) or Government-off-the-Shelf (GOTS) solutions where practicalLead long-term strategy, technology roadmap planning, and capacity planning to ensure the infrastructure meets future business goalsContinuously monitor technical trends through independent research, reporting on new products and services that align with strategic goalsTranslate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders through briefings, whitepapers, and reportsPerform periodic technical assessments of programs and projects, evaluating status, progress, work product quality, and schedule and cost managementCloud & Hybrid Infrastructure:
Design, implement, and manage a secure, scalable multi-cloud and hybrid hosting infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performanceProvide expertise on enhancing application architecture to leverage Cloud Native solutions (e.g., ElasticSearch, Kibana, containerization) and optimize for performance and cost on AWS GovCloudAssist in the sizing of application components, usage estimates, and technical support configurationsIdentify system component incompatibilities and recommend solutions for seamless integration during technology upgradesAssist in the implementation and management of a Data Fabric to ensure seamless data integration and accessibility.Security, Compliance & Lifecycle Support:
Collaborate with the Cybersecurity team to implement robust security protocols, manage access controls, conduct vulnerability assessments, and respond to incidents.Ensure all infrastructure, technical specifications, and designs meet and maintain compliance with DoD, DLA, and other relevant government security standardsEvaluate technical specifications (i.e., design, database components, interface designs) to provide expert guidance and ensure industry best practices are metRequirements
Must be able to obtain a public trustBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is requiredFive to seven plus (5-7+) years of hands-on experience in systems or cloud infrastructure engineering in an advisory capacityDeep expertise with AWS (especially GovCloud) and practical experience with another major cloud platform (Azure or GCP)Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible)Hands-on experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud-native tools (ElasticSearch, Kibana)Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShellDemonstrated experience working within government security and compliance frameworks (e.g., IT-II, Secret clearance environments) and supporting the SDLC for government systemsExperience supporting Agile development methodologiesPreferred Qualifications
Professional cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert)Experience with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack)
