Position Summary
The Universal Banker delivers exceptional client service while supporting the branch teams and bankers in providing a seamless banking experience. This position opens and services accounts, processes transactions, responds to client inquiries, resolves account-related issues, and recommends appropriate bank products and services. The Universal Banker works collaboratively with branch teammates and bankers to strengthen client relationships, support daily operations, and contribute to overall branch success while adhering to all policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
• Travels to and supports branch locations throughout the DFW market as needed to provide staffing coverage, operational assistance, and exceptional client service to various branch teams and bankers.
• Provides prompt, professional service to clients and identifies opportunities to address their financial needs.
• Opens, maintains, and closes deposit accounts while ensuring documentation is complete, accurate, and properly retained.
• Processes banking transactions and account service requests accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with established procedures.
• Builds client relationships through proactive outreach, product education, cross-selling, and appropriate referrals to banking partners.
• Supports the branch team and bankers by assisting with account opening and maintenance, responding to client inquiries, resolving account-related issues, supporting relationship management efforts, and contributing to efficient branch operations.
• Assists with cash handling, teller, vault, balancing, audit, and other operational control responsibilities as assigned.
• Researches and resolves client or account-related issues and provides timely, accurate follow-up.
• Safeguards confidential information and complies with applicable laws, regulations, security standards, and bank policies and procedures.
• Maintains current job knowledge through ongoing training and performs additional duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Required
• A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Two years of new account experience is preferred, along with knowledge of teller services.
• Previous cash-handling experience is required.
Skills and Abilities Required
• Working knowledge of banking concepts, practices, and applicable regulations.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills, with the ability to balance transactions accurately, reconcile differences, and maintain complete financial records.
• Thorough knowledge of bank products and services, policies, and procedures, including the sales incentive program and applicable regulatory and audit requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to explain bank products and services clearly, identify client needs, cross-sell appropriate solutions, and respond effectively to client inquiries.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to identify client needs, explain banking solutions, and recommend appropriate products and services.
• Demonstrated teamwork, cooperation, professionalism, and patience when working with clients and colleagues.
