General Description:
The Staff Accountant is a key member of the Accounting team, responsible for supporting the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close and ensuring accounts are reconciled timely and accurately.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Account for and reconcile balances across Summit Farms and all related entities timely and accurately
• Support the financial close for Summit Farms and its affiliates, including preparing and booking recurring journal entries for property taxes, property insurance, and monthly cost of goods sold
• Perform month-end and year-end close duties, including accruals, allocations, journal entries, account reconciliations, and preparation and distribution of financial statements
• Prepare fund reporting for the investment funds Summit Ag sponsors
• Support other accounting functions, including accounts receivable and accounts payable, as needed
• Work with departments across the organization to obtain required accounting information
• Assist with special projects within the department
• Perform other duties as assigned
Education, Experience, and Other Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field and 1–2 years of directly related experience (relevant internship experience counts)
• Experience with accounting/ERP software
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Familiarity with AI tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot) is preferred
• Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize a weekly workload, maintain attention to detail, and work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and recommend process improvements
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
Work Environment:
• This position works in an office setting with regular use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, and filing cabinets

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
• Full-time, Monday through Friday, with occasional evening and weekend hours as job duties require
• Additional availability may be required during special projects
• This position has no supervisory responsibilities
