Pay: $80,000 - $92,400 annually

Location: Amherst, NY

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Your Impact as the The Assistant Superintendent of Program and Administrative Services

The Assistant Superintendent of Program and Administrative Services provides Academy-wide leadership and operational support across the Early Intervention and Education Division. This position leads strategic initiatives and high-priority projects, oversees Administrative Services and designated operational functions, supports program and building leadership, and advances compliance, continuous improvement, and organizational goals. The Assistant Superintendent collaborates across departments and with families, school districts, and community partners and represents the Superintendent as assigned and provides leadership on initiatives and operational matters spanning multiple programs, buildings, and departments.

• Provide Academy-wide leadership and operational support across the Early Intervention and Education Division, serving as a key member of the division leadership team and representing the Superintendent as assigned.

• Lead and coordinate strategic initiatives, high-priority projects, committees, and cross-departmental workgroups; develop implementation plans, recommendations, procedures, and communication strategies to advance organizational goals.

• Support Principals, Assistant Principals, and program leaders with implementation of organizational priorities, operational initiatives, program development, and continuous improvement efforts while promoting consistency and accountability across programs.

• Provide oversight of the Administrative Services Department and related systems, including records management, confidentiality, document retention, enrollment, intake, scheduling, office operations, and administrative support services; identify and implement opportunities to improve efficiency, standardization, and customer service.

• Support compliance, quality assurance, and continuous improvement initiatives related to NYSED, OCFS, IDEA, and other applicable requirements; collaborate with leadership teams to strengthen organizational systems and outcomes.

• Build and maintain effective relationships with families, school districts, community agencies, and other stakeholders; participate in meetings, admissions activities, tours, and community events and assist with significant concerns requiring administrative leadership.

• Oversee designated Academy-wide operational functions, including food service, emergency preparedness, crisis response, operational continuity, and other initiatives assigned by the Superintendent.

• Monitor progress and outcomes of assigned initiatives, facilitate cross-functional collaboration, and ensure timely implementation of priorities across buildings, programs, and departments.

• Serve as acting representative of the Superintendent for designated projects, meetings, initiatives, and operational matters.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• Master's Degree or Ph.D. in Education, Special Education, Psychology or related field

• Minimum of five years' experience school building leadership and operations management, in an education setting

• Direct clinical experience with children and/or adults with developmental disabilities preferred

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

• School Administrator/Supervisor, School Building Leader Certificate or School District Leader Certificate required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods.

• Constantly able to position self to safeguard students and navigate behavioral challenges.

• Must be able to effectively utilize mats and Ukeru pads and other protective equipment as trained.

• The person in this position frequently communicates with staff and students. Must be able to constantly converse/communicate so others understand and exchange accurate information in these situations.

• Must be able to move throughout the building to provide staff and student support.

• Must be able to observe student and staff behavior from various distances.

• Constantly operates a computer and other devices, such as an iPad, copy machine, and computer printer.

• Must be able to effectively apply all strategies for Crisis Intervention and Prevention – Revised (SCIP-R) procedures as well as all Core, Specialized and Restrictive physical interventions appropriately and safely for all students participating in programs.
