Position Overview:

The Director of Stores is responsible for the overall store operations in their designated region. This position is responsible to lead a remote field leadership team to achieve optimum business results effectively and efficiently. This is including but not limited to; sales, inventory, store conditions, staffing, customer service and profitability.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement procedures for maintaining effective and efficient store operations.

• Strategic planning for store growth and increased business results.

• Evaluate and develop improved techniques for inventory control, shipping and receiving, and efficient use of labor.

• Report performance and initiate improvements for general store operations.

• Develop and execute plans for coaching, training and development, evaluating, and supervising of District Team Leaders.

• Operational excellence with regard to the company's key performance indicators and overall business results.

• Ensure high quality customer service is delivered by Team Leaders and Associates.

• Conduct store visits to ensure that store conditions, service and business are meeting the company expectations.

• Assist in Associates recruitment, performance evaluations and Associates promotion and retention.

• Contribute to the company's strategic planning on Health and Safety issues.

• Provide subject matter expertise to District Team Leaders and stores on operational execution.

• Identify skill gaps and provide appropriate training to the team.

• Provide motivation, inspiration and enthusiasm to Team Leaders and Associates.

• Responsible for overall turnover results.

• Develop succession plans for all direct reports and the Director of Stores.

• Complete any additional responsibilities and/or duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent required.

• Bachelor's degree preferred.

• Minimum of 10 years of retail experience in a multi-unit management position in a mid-size to large retail service-oriented business, or demonstration of skills and learning through an internal development program and selection process.

• Ability to effectively manage in a professional work environment.

• Ability to lead and execute efficiently, exhibit character, possess exemplary work habits, commitment and integrity.

• Ability to exercise sound judgment.

• Efficient planning, prioritization and implementation of detailed instructions.

• Ability to learn and communicate new information and processes to all associates within company standards.

• Must be results-oriented through positive leadership.

• Comprehension of selling and service skills.

• Outstanding interpersonal and listening skills.

Physical Requirements:

• Frequent travel is required.

• Physical ability to stand for extended periods.

• Frequent standing, bending, stooping and kneeling.

• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

• Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.

• Must have the ability to operate a motor vehicle and have a valid state issued license.
