About this role

What You'll Do

- Create, review, approve, and maintain accurate, current, and traceable R&D documents, including packaging requirements forms, finished goods specifications, change requests, export documents, procedures, training records, and audit materials. Meet established quality standards and turnaround times.

- Review and approve packaging artwork in ZiFlow, checking it against approved requirements and resolving or escalating discrepancies before approval.

- Lead continuous improvement of documentation programs, procedures, workflows, forms, and systems, including Genesis Foods, IFS, ZiFlow, and ASANA.

- Deliver procedure-based training, verify competency, and help colleagues use R&D systems and documentation practices consistently.

- Coordinate preparation and provide accurate, organized documentation support for regulatory, quality, organic, customer, and food-safety audits.

- Partner across functions to support innovation, resolve documentation and compliance issues, and provide clear, evidence-based responses to internal and external enquiries.

- Manage the Raw Material Specification program, working with internal teams and ingredient vendors to keep specifications accurate, compliant, and complete within deadlines.

What You Bring

- A bachelor's degree in food science, product development, biology, chemistry, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

- Five or more years of food industry experience in R&D, technical documentation, quality, regulatory, or a related function.

- Experience managing controlled documents, specifications, procedures, training, systems, and cross-functional projects.

- Working knowledge of food safety, quality, labelling, and regulatory requirements. Familiarity with SQF, organic, and non-GMO standards is an asset.

Notes

- This role will pay between $75,000 - $85,000 per year with a 10% bonus.

- We are in office Monday - Thursday, with Friday's working from home.

- This opportunity will be based in our Richmond, BC office.
