Position Summary

The Wait Staff – Team Lead supports the Culinary Services Manager in coordinating dining room and “Landing” operations while ensuring efficient, courteous, and high-quality service. The Team Lead serves as a motivator, coordinator, and mentor, guiding team members, maintaining service standards, and ensuring daily operations run smoothly. The role may also assist with administrative duties and report writing as needed.

Essential Functions

• Leads and participates in providing courteous, professional service consistent with Collington's Philosophy, Values, Policies, and “Steps of Service.”

• Coordinates daily opening and closing activities, ensuring side work, tables, stations, and assigned areas meet established standards.

• Provides guidance, support, and mentorship to wait staff to promote teamwork, accountability, and strong performance.

• Ensures team members arrive on time and complete assigned responsibilities and closing duties.

• Greets, seats, and assists residents and guests promptly and courteously.

• Monitors dining areas to ensure tables, chairs, dishware, and service stations are clean, properly set, and ready for service.

• Responds to resident and guest questions, including menu and service-related inquiries.

• Helps resolve service concerns and maintains a high level of resident and guest satisfaction.

• Communicates operational needs, concerns, and team performance issues to the Culinary Services Manager.

• Continually identifies opportunities to improve team performance, service quality, and efficiency.

Education and Experience

• High School diploma

• Minimum of one (1) year of “Front of the House” operations experience in a restaurant or Senior living residential or long-term care facility preferred.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and support a team.

• Strong customer service and communication skills.

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

• Ability to prioritize tasks, coordinate staff, and maintain service standards.

• Professional, courteous, and dependable with a strong commitment to resident and guest satisfaction.

• Ability to follow established policies, procedures, food service standards, and “Steps of Service.”

• Basic computer and administrative skills, including the ability to complete reports and other documentation.

• Ability to attend required meetings and work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Salary: $17.00 per hour.
