Minimum Qualifications
Education:
• Equivalent to completion of twelfth grade; high school diploma or GED.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Experience:
• Five years of experience in general carpentry, plumbing, electrical repair, or other related experience.
• Completion of an appropriate two-year technical/trade school course may be substituted for up to 2 years of experience.
• Experience must have included supervisory experience.
Certifications/Licenses:
• Possession of a clean valid NYS, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, or Connecticut Driver's License.
• Must meet requirements to maintain a good driving record.
• Ability to obtain and maintain appropriate levels of certification from the Fire Department.
Work Eligibility: Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Schedule: 7:30am-4:00pm Monday-Friday
Compensation: $70,778.03 annually

About the Role
The Maintenance Supervisor supervises and coordinates the activities of Maintenance Workers and other workers who perform facility maintenance, repair, and construction activities including routine carpentry, painting, plastering, minor electrical work, minor plumbing, and installing or repairing locks. The Maintenance Supervisor also assists with grounds maintenance, transportation of personnel and supplies, documentation, and implementation of facility safety activities under the guidance of the Director, Building Management.
Primary Responsibilities
• Supervise staff engaged in maintenance and repair projects, including carpentry, plastering, electrical work, plumbing, lock repair, vehicle maintenance, and groundskeeping.
• Train, instruct, monitor, and participate in maintenance activities as necessary.
• Implement maintenance schedules and conduct regular site visits.
• Complete or oversee completion of work orders in a timely and acceptable manner.
• Assign staff based on workload and available resources and coordinate emergency project coverage.
• Inspect work in progress and completed work to ensure compliance with building codes, regulations, and project specifications.
• Inspect work completed by outside contractors as assigned.
• Prepare and maintain records of labor, materials, and completed work.
• Conduct employee performance evaluations and initiate corrective action when appropriate.
• Enforce attendance rules, work standards, and schedules.
• Communicate agency policies, directives, and procedures through meetings and written communications.
• Provide staff instruction regarding special procedures and assignments.
• Participate in recruitment activities and recommend qualified candidates for employment.
• Participate in the departmental on-call system and respond to emergencies as assigned.
• Assist in regulatory inspections of building systems.
• Acquire and maintain appropriate Fire Department certifications and perform required inspections.
• Requisition maintenance supplies and oversee receipt, storage, distribution, and safekeeping of materials.
• Oversee work request systems and other departmental tracking systems.
• Participate in building security-related activities as assigned.
• Maintain service and repair agreements.
• Assist with identifying and securing outside vendors through the bid process.
• Perform all duties and responsibilities of a Facilities Maintenance Worker when necessary.
• Perform other duties reasonably related to the position as assigned.
