About this role
Responsibilities:
Payroll / Record Management
• Own and process multi-state payroll from start to finish, ensuring accuracy and timeliness each pay cycle
• Process and reconcile payroll data, resolving discrepancies in the HRIS system (UKG)
• Review tax and payroll records to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
• Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll-related questions and issues
• Compile, update, and maintain accurate employee records including compensation, benefits, tax data, performance evaluations, and termination details
• Update personnel files to reflect employment changes and ensure accurate payroll/reporting data
Recruitment & Onboarding
• Support full-cycle recruitment by posting job openings, screening applicants, and coordinating interview scheduling with department managers
• Coordinate and facilitate new hire onboarding, including orientation and initial training
Employee Relations & Performance
• Assist managers with performance management, including coaching conversations, recognition programs, disciplinary documentation, and conflict resolution
• Serve as a point of contact for routine employee relations questions, promoting a positive, respectful, and compliant workplace
• Handle and escalate employee concerns professionally and confidentially
Benefits Administration
• Ensure timely and accurate enrollment in company benefit programs
• Process benefit transactions including enrollments, terminations, and changes for health, dental, vision, life insurance, and 401(k) plans
• Reconcile monthly insurance invoices and help resolve billing discrepancies
• Gather and organize documentation to support annual benefit plan audits
• Help maintain compliance with policies and regulations related to Vacation, Sick, and FMLA leave
Additional Responsibilities
• Assist with maintaining and updating company Intranet content
• Support the company's Learning Management System (LMS), including uploading content, tracking completions, and troubleshooting access
• Help maintain required annual reporting and support internal/external audits
• Perform additional HR duties and special projects as assigned
What You Bring
Education
• High school diploma required
• Associate degree preferred
Experience & Skills
• Minimum 5 years of experience in multi-state payroll (required — this is a core function of the role)
• UKG Experience Preferred
• Proficient in MS Office Suite and Outlook, with a willingness to learn new systems
• Strong knowledge of office administrative practices and procedures
• Working knowledge of payroll and HR-related standards and regulations
• Strong prioritization and time-management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines across multiple tasks
• A collaborative, people-first approach to getting things done
Certifications (Preferred)
• CPP (Certified Payroll Professional)
