Position
Digi International is looking for a Shipping Lead is responsible for coordinating and executing daily shipping operations to ensure accurate, timely, and cost-effective delivery of Digi International products to customers, distributors, and internal locations. This role serves as a key resource within the shipping department, providing guidance to team members, ensuring compliance with company policies and transportation regulations, and driving continuous improvement in shipping processes.

The Senior Shipping Clerk is responsible for coordinating and executing daily shipping operations to ensure accurate, timely, and cost-effective delivery of Digi International products to customers, distributors, and internal locations. This role serves as a key resource within the shipping department, providing guidance to team members, ensuring compliance with company policies and transportation regulations, and driving continuous improvement in shipping processes.
What You Will Do
Shipping Operations
• Process domestic and international shipments using approved carrier systems and transportation management tools.
• Verify order accuracy, product quantities, serial numbers, and shipping documentation before shipment.
• Generate packing slips, bills of lading, customs documentation, and shipping labels.
• Coordinate freight, parcel, LTL, and expedited shipments with approved carriers.
• Monitor shipment status and proactively address transportation issues or delays.
• Ensure all orders are shipped according to customer requirements and established service-level agreements.
Inventory and Accuracy
• Perform shipping verification to ensure inventory accuracy and order completeness.
• Investigate and resolve shipment discrepancies, shortages, damages, and customer delivery issues.
• Participate in cycle counts and inventory reconciliation activities as needed.
• Maintain accurate transaction records within ERP, WMS, and related systems.
Team Leadership
• Provide day-to-day guidance and training to Shipping Clerks and warehouse personnel.
• Serve as a subject matter expert for shipping procedures, documentation, and compliance requirements.
• Assist supervisors with workflow planning and task prioritization.
• Support onboarding and training of new team members.
Compliance and Quality
• Ensure compliance with company quality standards, safety policies, and shipping regulations.
• Maintain compliance with international shipping requirements, export controls, and hazardous material procedures when applicable.
• Support audits related to shipping, inventory, and quality processes.
• Promote a safe, organized, and efficient work environment.
Continuous Improvement
• Identify opportunities to improve shipping efficiency, accuracy, and customer service.
• Assist in implementing process improvements and best practices.
• Track and report shipping performance metrics and operational issues.
• Support special projects related to logistics, warehouse operations, and supply chain initiatives.
Who You Are and What You Bring
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Shipping, warehouse, logistics, or distribution experience.
• Experience with ERP, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and shipping software.
• Working knowledge of domestic and international shipping procedures.
• Ability to operate standard warehouse equipment, including barcode scanners and shipping systems.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Outlook.
Desired But Not Required
• Experience in a manufacturing, technology, or electronics distribution environment.
• Knowledge of export documentation and customs compliance.
• Experience with FedEx, UPS, DHL, and freight carrier systems.

Physical Requirements
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and move packages up to 50 pounds with or without accommodation.
• Frequent bending, reaching, and handling of shipping materials.
• Ability to work in a warehouse and distribution environment.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $19.62/hr – $29.42/hr. Pay ranges are determined by role, job level and primary job location. The range displayed reflects the reasonable range we anticipate paying for this position and reflects the cost of labor within several U.S. geographic markets. The specific salary offered within the range will depend on various factors including, but not limited to the candidate's relevant and prior experience, education, skills, and primary work location. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each position. Pay ranges are typically reviewed and updated annually.
