Job Description:
Air Freight Operations
• Manage end-to-end air import and export operations.
• Ensure timely movement of shipments in accordance with customer requirements and service commitments.
• Monitor operational KPIs, shipment visibility, transit performance, and service quality.
• Handle escalation management and provide effective solutions for customers and partners.
• Ensure compliance with airline, customs, DGCA, IATA, and international trade regulations.
Carrier & Vendor Management
• Develop and maintain relationships with airlines, GSSAs, and overseas agents.
• Negotiate rates, capacity allocations, and service agreements with carriers.
• Drive procurement initiatives to improve margins and service reliability.
Commercial & Business Development
• Support sales teams in RFQs, tenders, pricing, and strategic account management.
• Develop air freight growth strategies to increase market share and profitability.
• Identify new business opportunities and trade lane development initiatives.
• Work closely with key customers to design tailored logistics solutions.
Financial Management
• To be responsible for P&L of air export and import product and to ensure revenue and gross profit targets are achieved.
• Monitor shipment profitability and yield management.
• Control operational costs and improve efficiency.
Team Leadership
• Lead, mentor, and develop air freight operational teams.
• Conduct regular performance reviews and training programs.
• Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and compliance standards.
Process Improvement
• Identify opportunities for automation and process optimization.
• Drive continuous improvement projects to enhance productivity and customer satisfaction.
• Collaborate with global and regional teams to implement best practices.
Required Qualifications
• 6-10 years of experience in international freight forwarding, with at least 5 years in air freight management.
• Strong knowledge of air import/export operations, customs procedures, and airline regulations.
• Proven experience in carrier negotiations and rate procurement.
Preferred Candidate Profile
• Strong network within airlines and air cargo community.
• Experience handling international trade lanes and key accounts.
• Track record of improving profitability and operational performance.
Ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive business growth
