Title: Departmental Assistant Location: Upper East Side Org Unit: Chair Support Work Days: Monday-Friday Weekly Hours: 35.00 Exemption Status: Non-Exempt Salary Range: $23.79 - $25.88 *As required under NYC Human Rights Law Int 1208-2018 - Salary range for this role when Hired for NYC Offices Position Summary Under supervision, provides a wide range of administrative and secretarial support for the office Job Responsibilities Serves as the first point of face-to-face contact with staff and visitors to the office. Interfaces with staff addressing questions regarding general office procedures. Distributes mail and packages. Manages various mass distributions as needed. Schedules meetings/appointments as needed and reserves conference rooms for staff members. Assists with organization and preparation for all meetings, workshops, events and presentations and ensures proper room set-up. Maintains general appearance of the office space. Maintains and manages kitchen equipment. Monitors proper usage, schedules repairs when necessary and trains staff on safety and maintenance protocols. Assists with travel arrangements when needed. Education High school diploma or GED Experience Approximately 1 year of prior administrative support experience Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to pay close attention to detail. Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written). Ability to exercise standards of professionalism, including appearance, presentation and demeanor.
