About this role

Job Title: Material HandlerJob DescriptionThe Material Handler plays a key role in supporting production and shipping operations by accurately receiving, storing, pulling, and distributing materials. This position ensures that inventory is correctly documented and available where and when it is needed, while consistently adhering to established safety, quality, and efficiency standards. Responsibilities • Remove shipped materials from delivery vehicles and transport them to appropriate storage or processing areas. • Examine documents and shipping paperwork to determine correct storage destinations and handling requirements. • Pull stored materials and move them to designated production or shipping areas in a timely and accurate manner. • Document information related to part numbers, quantities, counts, and storage locations to maintain accurate inventory records. • Perform packaging of materials as needed to prepare items for shipment or internal use. • Conduct inventory counts and cycle counts to support inventory control and accuracy. • Use ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle to perform data entry and track materials, inventory, and movements. • Utilize RF scanners and other material handling tools to pick, pack, and distribute parts efficiently. • Support shipping and receiving activities, including kitting, packing, and verification of incoming and outgoing materials. • Complete daily tasks quickly and efficiently while consistently adhering to quality and safety standards. • Follow established procedures, techniques, tools, and processes appropriate to materials handling operations. • Work under direct supervision, taking direction and feedback to improve performance and maintain compliance with company policies. • Maintain a clean and organized work area to support safety, efficiency, and inventory accuracy. • Communicate effectively with team members and other departments to coordinate material flows and resolve issues. • Adhere to all company safety rules and regulations, including proper lifting techniques and safe operation of equipment. Essential Skills • Proven experience in material handling, including pulling and distributing parts in a production or warehouse environment. • Hands-on experience with shipping and receiving processes, including packing, kitting, and inventory control. • Ability to perform accurate data entry related to part numbers, counts, and storage locations. • Working knowledge of ERP systems, specifically SAP or Oracle, for inventory and materials management. • Experience conducting inventory counts and cycle counts to support inventory accuracy. • Ability to use RF scanners and related technology for picking, packing, and inventory tracking. • Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds as part of daily job duties. • Ability to understand and adhere to company safety rules and regulations in a manufacturing or warehouse setting. • Ability to follow established procedures, techniques, tools, and processes related to materials handling. • Good math skills to perform counts, verify quantities, and reconcile inventory. • Good verbal and written communication skills to interact with supervisors and team members and to document inventory information. • Basic computer skills to navigate systems, enter data, and review documentation. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing, warehouse, or technology-driven environment. • Familiarity with inventory control practices and continuous improvement concepts. • Comfort working under direct supervision while being proactive in completing assigned tasks. • Attention to detail and accuracy in handling, documenting, and tracking materials. • Ability to collaborate effectively with other team members in a collegial, team-oriented environment. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Fremont, CA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
