Job Summary:

The Manager, Operations & Budget is responsible for the Public Affairs division's budget management, office management, operational support and event support.

Public Affairs' Mission is to inspire and activate a diverse, influential audience that is invested and empowered to contribute to the conservation of wildlife and wild places. We do this through impactful communications and advocacy advancing WCS's science, fieldwork in nearly 60 countries around the world and its five zoos and aquarium in New York City. We forge valuable relationships and partnerships with governments, communities, the private sector, and NGOs; and by sharing information resources, including the historic record of WCS's 125+ years of leadership in wildlife conservation and zoological expertise.

Major Responsibilities: Budget & Procurement • Coordinate operating, grant and capital budget development with department heads and the EVP, including all submissions to the budget office • Monitor budget performance, ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures, reconcile expense allocations and prepare reports and analyses for leadership • Facilitate quarterly budget review meetings to support financial planning and decision­ making • Manage department procurement activities, from purchase requisition through vendor payment, as well as travel expense reimbursements

Operation • Serve as the division's liaison for HR, IT, and operational initiatives, supporting process implementation and continuous improvement • Oversee employee and intern onboarding/ offboarding, time and attendance reporting, and shared administrative resources • Coordinate divisional meetings, travel, other operational logistics and support events and tours • Manage office procurement, equipment and supply inventory, mailings, cart scheduling and maintenance, and projects assigned by VP or EVP #LI-SC1

Qualification Requirements: Job Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, finance, management, public administration or related field preferred • 5+ years of office management experience, including at least 2 years of budget or bookkeeping responsibilities; experience working in large complex organization a bonus • Strong project management and organization skills and ability to work in teams • Demonstrated ability to think and plan proactively and strategically • Excellent written and oral communication skills • Occasional availability for after-hours and weekend events required • Proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Office/Teams and Google Drive; Salesforce competence a plus • Driver's license required
